Personal AV (also known as Personal Antivirus or PersonalAV) is the #1 most prevalent rogue antispyware program on the Internet today. It has infected hundreds of thousands of computers and shows no signs of slowing down. It is also very dangerous and difficult to remove - unless you have the right tool.

There are a number of different ways that Personal AV infects your computer - via games on Facebook, via video codecs, via downloads of infected shareware, freeware, or torrents. Regardless of which way you did become infected with it your main priority should be to get it off your computer because in addition to slowing it down and bombarding you with fake alerts and spyware scans, it can also log your keystrokes, steal private information from you and then send that information off to a remote server.

This is extremely dangerous because once the hacker on the other side of that remote server gets this information he or she can use it to gain access to your credit cards, bank accounts, etc. and ultimately steal your identity.

How to Remove Personal AV

Contrary to what you might have read or what other websites will tell you, do not attempt manual removal.

If you are not a professional computer technician then you can end up deleting the wrong files, folders or registry entries and render your computer completely inoperable.

In addition to that however, is the fact that Personal AV simply cannot be removed by just deleting some files and registry entries. I know because I tried, and I actually am a professional computer technician. In fact, I tried for several hours one afternoon on a friend's computer and each time I rebooted, Personal AV came back. I even tried a couple of free removal tools that got me nowhere either.

After my frustration came to a head, I ended up downloading and installing what is widely considered to be the most advanced and most effective spyware removal tool on the market for him and within minutes Personal AV was gone for good.

Since then when anybody asks me about Personal AV, I simply tell them to get their hands on that same advanced removal tool because it will save them from going through the same struggles and frustration that I and so many others went through after they've become infected with it.
